The short version: No EightRings app shows ads, runs analytics, or tracks you. Calendar, Lists, Notes, Habits, Timers, and Pro work without an account and keep your content on your device — AI understanding runs on Apple's on-device models. One app uses a secure cloud service: Health sends the data you choose to log to our secured AI service to generate coaching — and does not store your conversations or health data on our servers.
The EightRings family of apps ("the Apps") — Pro, Calendar, Lists, Notes, Habits, Health, and Timers — is developed and operated by OctiCorp. This Privacy Policy explains what information each app handles, how it is protected, and what choices you have. By using the Apps, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Calendar, Lists, Notes, Habits, Timers, and Pro are designed to work on-device. They require no account and collect no personal information; your content stays on your iPhone.
Health necessarily uses network services to do its job — generating AI coaching. The section below describes exactly what that service can and cannot see.
All content you create within the Apps — voice recordings, transcriptions, AI summaries, lists, calendar events, notes, habit and timer data, and meals and workouts — is stored locally on your device. This data belongs to you.

EightRings Health uses a cloud AI service to power its coach, meal-photo analysis, and insights — this is the one EightRings app whose AI does not run on your phone. It is engineered so that the service computes answers without keeping your data:
To delete your Health account and any server-side account records, use the in-app account deletion option or contact support@octicorp.com.
The App requests access to your device's microphone solely to capture voice recordings initiated by you. Microphone access is never used in the background or without your active interaction.
Recorded audio files are stored in your app's local sandbox and are never transmitted over the internet by the App. You can delete individual recordings or all recordings at any time from Settings → Storage → Clear All Recordings.
App data — recordings, transcriptions, lists, notes, events, habits, timers, and health logs — is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage infrastructure and iOS data protection. The only data held server-side is what Health needs to operate, described above: account registration records and aggregate usage counts.
You can permanently delete all recordings from Settings → Storage → Clear All Recordings within the app. Uninstalling any EightRings app removes all locally stored app data from your device. We do not retain copies of your content on any OctiCorp server; for Health account records, use in-app account deletion or contact us.
The Apps do not currently use iCloud sync. All data remains on the device where it was created.
Calendar, Lists, Notes, Habits, and Timers are free. EightRings Pro is subscription-based, and Health offers optional subscriptions for expanded AI use. All purchases are managed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit infrastructure.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or content with any third party for any purpose, including advertising.

We do not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting services that transmit data externally.
EightRings is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@octicorp.com and we will take steps to delete it.
Because your content is stored locally on your device, you have complete control. You can view, edit, and delete any content directly within each app at any time. Deleting an app removes all associated on-device data. Health additionally offers account deletion, which removes your registration records from our servers.
You can revoke microphone access at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → EightRings. Revoking microphone access disables recording features but does not affect other functionality.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
